Greetings from 19th WSC 2024, Nepal!
We are writing to extend a cordial invitation to you and your esteemed organization to participate in the “19th World Sanskrit Conference”, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal in June 26-30, 2025.
The World Sanskrit Conference, renowned for its academic excellence and cultural significance, serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts from around the globe to convene and engage in discussions, presentations, and workshops pertaining to the Sanskrit language, literature, philosophy, and allied disciplines. The 19th WSC will mark the safe return from the necessity of virtual meetings, induced by the pandemic, to the tradition of travelling to the conference venue to meet, in person, the prominent Indologists and Sanskrit scholars from all over the world. It shall also be the fifth World Sanskrit Conference to be held in South Asia and the first ever to be held in Nepal – a land that has preserved some of the oldest Sanskrit manuscripts, inscriptions, and ancient monuments, where Mount Everest stands tall amid the Himalayas, where Buddha was born, and some of the greatest Sanskrit traditions flourished and thrived for centuries. And as such, we are most eager to welcome you to Kathmandu, the heart of the country.
The upcoming conference in Kathmandu promises to be a landmark event, featuring a diverse array of sessions encompassing various aspects of Sanskrit studies. With distinguished speakers, thought-provoking panel discussions, and insightful paper presentations, the conference aims to foster scholarly exchange, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to the advancement of Sanskrit scholarship worldwide.
Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and warm hospitality, provides an ideal backdrop for this prestigious gathering. Delegates will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant cultural tapestry of Nepal while engaging in intellectually stimulating discourse within the scholarly community.
