Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU)
A brief introduction to the NSU
The establishment of Nepal Sanskrit University (formerly Mahendra Sanskrit University) took place on the auspicious day of December 10, 1986, in Beljhundi Dang, intending to make Sanskrit education easily accessible in Nepal and promoting spiritual values, cultural heritage, and lofty ideals within Sanskrit literature in a time-appropriate manner. The initiation of this work by the then King Mahendra Vir Vikram Shah, with the active participation and relentless efforts of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah and the unwavering support of the Sanskrit-loving Nepalese people, led to the establishment of Nepal Sanskrit University.
